A pretty nice day. It seemed like it was going to be down right hot when we got there, but after walking to the river it seemed to drop a bit in temperture. I would say it was probably about 50 degrees, with a bit of haze. The water was flowing at about 70cfs and very cold. Because of the recent warm weather the ground has thawed. Although there is very little snow what is there is melting and with the thawed ground resulting in water being slight discolored. Not muddy, but no longer gin clear as it was a couple of weeks ago.

I fished primarily a Brown Mono midge, with a tan San Juan worm. Both landed some fish, but not great action. I switched to a Flash Cream Thread Midge at the end of the day. This seemed to get a lot more hits. With the color of the water, I would recommend something similar (white/Cream UFO or Miracle).

The fly shops seem to rave about Black Beauties, but we did not have any luck with them. To be honest the water was probably a bit too dirty for that color.

The rainbows are really starting to develop nice colors. My guess is they'll start moving on to the redds in about 3 weeks.
