Monday was MLK day, so since we couldn't ship anything I went fishing. Saw my first BWO hatch for the year. Not heavy but present none the less.
Brown thread midges seemed the best (Y Special, Brown UFO's, Y Flash)

Air temp: About 50 degrees.
Sky: Sunny
Flow: 75 cfs.
Water temp: Damn Cold
Clarity: gin clear.

On Thursday it was much the same story, but much warmer(~60) and no BWO hatch to speak of. It was extremely crowded, the nice weather just seemed to result in a lot of people calling into work sick with that little known bug, the "Platte Fever". Some people reported success with streamers earlier in the day. I also for the first time actually saw somebody fishing inside Wigwam. I tried out a new pattern, that some refer to as a "Kong" sort of a Yong with a copper rib. Could probably just as well be called a "Brown Miracle Midge". The final verdict is not yet in on this fly.
