I went back to the S. Platte yesterday (Wed), and the snow has really made it muddy, then they jacked the flows from 40 to 97 cfs at about noon. That made it extremely muddy. Tomorrow or Saturday the river will probably be lot clearer. When the snow finally disappears (by Monday) it will be tons better.

Well the hatch (BWO) came off in fine fashion, but the river was so muddy the fish could not see the bugs, so the fish did not "rise" to the occasion.

BH Caddis pupa, Copper Johns, and BH Flashback Gold Ribbed Hares Ear did catch some fish, but because of the conditions it was a pretty slow day. On the plus side there was almost no one on the river, but that will change as the snow melts.

If you want to really fish a BWO hatch I would suggest the Ark for the next couple of days. They received none of this snow.

The weather yesterday was sunny and HOT. Temp at 3:00 was 67 degrees.
