I fished three separate sections of the Colorado: Hot Sulpher Springs above town, Paul Gilbert (just below Byers Canyon), and about a 1/2 mile below Parshall (at the bridge). There were two main hatches going on PMD's about a size 18 or 20 and Tricos size 22-24. The Tricos were the primary hatch in the morning with the PMD's coming on in the afternoons. In the evening there was a nice spinner fall of PMD's with the fish literally jumping out of the water to get the flies. A size 18 or 20 CDC Rusty Spinner did the trick in the evening. In the afternoon a nice light yellow PMD Dun about sz 18 did the trick.

Some fish in the afternoon appeared to be taking caddis, but I only had one hit on the caddis I tried. I would also say the PMD hatch seemed to be strongest below Parshall. If the fish are not rising to the trico spinner fall, try a sunken trico spinner.

It appeared that the Golden Stones hit their peak here a 2-3 weeks earlier.

Flow was about 350 CFS, water temp low 60's. The clarity was better on Tuesday. Sunday, the water was a bit cloudy.
