Fished the Upper Quality water on Sunday. It was a gorgeous day: mostly sunny, with temps in the low 70's with a slight breeze from downstream. Flow was probably about 250 cfs in the upper section with water temps in the high 50's. The water was crystal clear. Two different size PMD's were hatching today, size 16's and size 18's. It appears the stones hatched about 1-2 weeks earlier as there were lots of cases laying around, but I did not see any flying in the air.

In any case I had better luck fishing a size 16 PMD DUN pattern, although the size 18 seem alot more numerous. My friend however had good luck with a size 18 CDC Emerger. I also landed one brown and a whitefish on a black RS2 (Dark CDC).

Later, towards sunset I took a couple of fish on a size 16 CDC Rusty Spinner. The fish did not seem to rise very much for the spinner fall, and I'm not sure why as they seemed pretty thick.

The moose picture above is from near Trap Lake.
